Job Purpose Summary

This is a hands-on role to represent and promote the brand of the Boundary Group, and primarily its newest Southern acquisition Portcullis Gate and Barrier Ltd. Implementing a Strategic Sales Plan that expands the Company's customer base within the Commercial sector and ensures its strong presence within the market. 

Administration Manager

Job Purpose Summary

Our office is the heart of our business and we require our employees to be team players, friendly and portray the company’s high standard of customer service. Further to a recent acquisition we are looking for an Administration Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the office functions.

Midlands Engineer 

BGB is a well-established company with over 1300 sites across the UK where we maintain and repair Automatic Gates, Barriers, Turnstiles, Blockers and Automatic Bollards as well as Roller Shutters & Automatic Doors. BGB is a Bolton Office based company operating nationally and due to high demand, we are looking for experienced engineers to cover our Midlands & Southern-based sites. 

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Automatic Gate and Barrier Experience (min 3 years).
  • Associated Access Control Experience would be an advantage.
  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills as well as 'a can do, will do attitude.'
  • Organised and willing, with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise and multitask effectively
  • Knowledge of current regs would be beneficial however training will be provided
  • Current CSCS card.
  • Experience of roller shutters and automatic door would be beneficial but not a necessity.
  • Full clean Driving Licence.

Position remuneration:

  • 26-28K+ negotiable depending on experience + overtime and on-call bonuses.
  • High spec company van.

  • Premier Inn Card for overnight stays.
  • 20 Day’s holidays per year + bank holidays. Increases by 1 day per full calendar year with the company, up to 25 days a year plus bank holidays.

Experience Roller shutter /Automatic door engineer.

BGB Contacts are a well-established company with over 1300 sites across the UK where we maintain and repair Roller Shutters, Automatic doors, Automatic Gates, Barriers, Turnstiles, Blockers and Automatic Bollards. We are a Bolton Office based company operating nationally and due to high demand, we are looking for engineers to assist with our Roller Shutter & Automatic Doors Department.

Engineer Position Overview

It is envisaged that the successful candidate will be a self-motivated, experienced and conscientious field-based service and installation engineer who can work on a variety of doors and fine curtains. The engineer will operate from our Bolton based office covering primarily our northwest based contracts but also covering other contracts across the UK when required.  Working with gates and barriers would be an advantage but is not a necessity.

Experience within the following is preferred:

  • Industrial shutters/ roller shutters
  • Vertical & horizontal fire/smoke curtains
  • Sectional overhead doors
  • Personal doors/ automatic doors

Desirable. CSCS certified/ IPAF licence/ PASMA current

Position remuneration:

  • Salary £23K - £26K per year based on experience + overtime and on-call bonuses.

 Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Maintain perimeter and traffic management systems in-line with current industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Respond to reactive service calls on all types of gates, barriers, turnstiles and access systems.
  • Plan routes effectively to meet with daily jobs allocated and around reactive call visits for the designated areas of work.
  • Carry out small repairs and installations
  • Liaise with manufacturers technical departments.
  • Be organised and hand all paperwork and reports back to the Service Manager on a daily basis.

Candidate Specification:

  • Good all round knowledge and experience of gates, barriers, turnstiles and access systems.
  • First class communication skills and able to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Experience of Roller Shutters is an advantage but not a necessity.
  • Pass a full CRB and credit check due to the nature of the working environment.
  • Ability to receive instruction and manage workload within your geographical area.
  • Self-motivated with proven ability to multi-task, while demonstrating excellent organisational skills.
  • Able to work unsupervised as well as part of a team.
  • Must be flexible and have a ‘can do’ attitude .
  • Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
